Teaching
In addition to standard courses in the fields of epistemology, philosophy of science, philosophy of mind, and philosophy of language, I have developed several original philosophy courses designed to show students how concepts and argumentation from these philosophical fields may be applied to issues of relevance in contemporary popular culture.
Philosophy of Bad Language: Slurs, Swear Words, and Silencing Philosophy and Science Fiction The Philosophy of Conspiracy Theories Ethno-Epistemology Introduction to Artificial Intelligence During my time at ASC, I recruited many philosophy majors through my symbolic logic course. Here is my pitch to prospective logic students. |
As course instruction moved online during the COVID-19 pandemic, I built a lightboard, which I now use in all of my synchronous, online classes. The lightboard plays the traditional role of a blackboard, allowing me to draw diagrams and present standard-form arguments in real-time.
Here is my video explaining how to use and construct a lightboard. |
